The cult of Videoblogging Week 2006 - day 1

So here we are, Videoblogging Week 2006, it seems like we only just did Videoblogging Week 2005.

The big difference this year, is all the new videobloggers trying to help out by creating forums, tag clouds and Videoblogging Week videoblogs, whereas last year was just shoot it and upload it. So what's changed?

Beware the cult of Videoblogging Week 2006. Make it simple, make it accessible, shoot video and upload it. End of story.

You may be grumpy, but you are definitely right. The infrastructure they want to create for this is annoying and superfluous.

At least you're grumpy in the funny "I'm too old for this crap" kind of way. I can appreciate that. :o)

Like Schlomo I agree (well, I think the tagging bit is kind of important so I can watch the videos). I'm not even going to comment on vlogchallenge.com

Doing all the tagging, signing up etc takes longer than it does to just shoot and post.

Is grumpy the new punk? Or what that the old punk....I can never keep up.

Hi Andreas,

I'm curious as to what the above comment means. I assume that you are offended by VlogChallenge.com. I threw the site together because I thought that it would be fun to have a video version of photo friday. To make it easy for folks to contribute I made our first challenge 'Danger'. Next weeks challenge will be 'resurrection'. I'm curious, are you offended that I made my challenge coincide with the theme of vlogging week? I actually made that decision based upon some feedback/suggestions from others in the vlogging community. My intention was in no way to exploit or attempt to steal the thunder of vlogging week. I'm new to all this, and I'm just trying to do my part to add outlets for vlogging creativity and fun.
