So I wonder who the hot shot advertising bod was, who wrote this slogan for Creative Zen MP3 players. It’s a hot market, so you’d think they’d spend that little extra getting it right.
One of the amusing things for me about the recent XBOX 360 launch, is the official site showing the box and controller. Once you get in, you can see the XBOX and controller from various angles, or… send them an email. Wow, great site. When I’m buying a game console, my main concern is what games are available and what do they look like on the screen. What the box looks like? Give me a fucking break.
But aside from the lack of content and so so so bad usability of the site, which I won’t go into here, the most amusing thing is that it shows yet again how cool Apple’s QuickTime is (which isn’t used on the site by the way). You can view the XBOX on the site from four different angles, but the thing is, I’m so used to sites using QuickTime VR, which is almost the norm these days for viewing spaces, that the four fixed angles just plain pissed me off.
So not only doesn’t the site show any of the game content, but you can’t even get a good look at the box from any angle, which seems to be the whole point of the site. Nuts. XBOX 360. It’s just a PowerPC in a plastic wrapper. Big deal. Bring on the Playstation 3 I say. Bring it on!
